Tips for Fall from Cash Oil
Fall leaves are delightful to look at, but ...
They’re not so delightful to trudge through when our delivery drivers need to fill your tank.
Please clear a path to your oil fill pipe by raking and shoveling leaves and debris so our drivers will be able to deliver your fuel quickly, easily and safely.
In addition, here are five more tips to ensure interrupted heating oil deliveries this fall:
-
Mark your fill pipe by placing a tall, visible marker flag next to the fill pipe so it is easy to spot if leaves pile up against it. When snow start falling, keep the flag up in case snow drifts over your fill pipe area.
-
Move tools, rakes, shovels, hoses, toys, and garbage cans away from the fill pipe and the path that leads to it.
-
Unlock gates leading to the backyard or tank area on delivery day, or make sure someone is home to provide access.
-
Keep dogs and other pets safely indoors or in a fenced area away from the delivery path to protect both the pets and the driver. Keep curious children away, too.
-
Check that fuel vents, furnace exhausts, and dryer vents are free of leaves in the fall, and snow and ice in the winter so air can properly escape while the tank fills.
